Flagship YZ-9770 — in April 2022 it became the first device of its class in China to pass SGEPRI certification. Overview

YZ-9770 Satellite Timing Security Appliance (April 2022: first device of its class in China certified by SGCC's EPRI) detects and isolates GNSS spoofing, jamming, replay, and suppression attacks, hardening critical infrastructure against satellite-timing risk.

Why It Matters

The attack surface against GNSS timing has expanded rapidly:

  • Spoofing — counterfeit signals lock receivers to a false time
  • Jamming — broadband noise causes loss-of-lock
  • Replay — record-and-delay of legitimate satellite signals
  • Narrowband suppression — targeted attacks on specific satellites

How It Works

YZ-9770 uses two defence layers — multi-source cross-validation and physical-layer anomaly detection:

  1. Parallel multi-GNSS solving: BeiDou + GPS + Galileo + GLONASS solved in parallel; deltas above threshold trigger isolation
  2. C/N0 + AGC + Doppler triple monitoring: any anomaly drops the receiver into holdover on a high-stability local oscillator
  3. Holdover oscillator / Rb option: < 1.5 μs over 24 h sans GNSS; < 0.3 μs with rubidium
  4. Spoof signature library: real-time matching against signatures collected from field exercises

  • Compatible with the Power Monitoring Cyber Security Regulations (NEA Doc. 36)
